I was invited to attend a supposedly "premier" club in Atlanta via guest-list but graciously turned it down for a night out with a very close friend of my heart, plus I was cramping all day and didn't want to ruin the boys night out with my bitchie-ness.
My close friend has been talking about the movie "Lovely Bones" all week so after canceling my prior plans of bouncing off the club walls, I decided to sit down & enjoy a night out at the movies and of course the movie of choice was "Lovely Bones."
I don't go to the movies much but the trailer made "Lovely Bones" seem as a must-see (well to me). So I was truly excited & ready to see it myself.

We were both excited to finally get some alone time so before the movie started, we played like some little teenagers running to get the *super duper back seats* and taking pictures with my blackberry to post on twitpic but that shit didn't work for some reason so middle finger for that. Ah well, here's a few:

As "Lovely Bones" started the only thing I could focus on was the starring actor as 14-year-old Susie Salmon (”like the fish”). Her eyes were extremely mesmerizing so I'm sure we'll see those eyes alot in the future plus she did an excellent job of conveying her emotions through her eyes.
I can never understand how a child can be lured into such hasty conditions but then again, I was taught to scream anytime a stranger approaches me. Therefore, I sort of thought that Susie Salmon made her bed of stupidity and had to lay in it. Oh shit, I'm so politically incorrect. Nevertheless, no one deserves to be murdered...I take that back, some people do but that's not the point. I still felt sympathy for Susie Salmon although it was only a small amount due to the movies focus on the idea of being stuck in-between life and death, which at times looked like the "Wizard of Oz" and at other times "The Teletubbies."
To me "Lovely Bones" wasn't about life and it wasn't about death, it was about the beauty of love that can heal anyone at any time. I think people were misguided by the trailer and hence they were disappointed, they totally missed the real point of "Lovely Bones." Or maybe I received the point of the movie because I sat next to a woman during the movie, who's soul cries every time she thinks of her missing child. Its not real to some people but its real to her. From mourning to loving, "Lovely Bones" shows how one family falls apart but in the end come together for the same reason. Even in a moment of crisis, "Lovely Bones" correctly exemplifies how love can hold together this wonderful hell on earth. So thank you Susan Salmon, I needed that one.
P.S.
@JamminJeanette and @aksala13 mentioned the book was incredible and a must-read, so go pick up "Lovely Bones" book and go follow @JamminJeanette and @aksala13 on twitter.
